Bessie B. Konecny, 92 of Ely died Sunday, August 21, 2011. Service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Burial will follow in Rogers Grove Cemetery, near Ely. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids. Bessie was born March 27, 1919 in Ely, the daughter of Joe and Anna (Kubichek) Binko. She married Charles Frank Konecny on December 16, 1953. Bessie and Charlie farmed in Ely area all their lives. She enjoyed time spent farming, taking care of her flowers and garden as well as cooking. Bessie is survived by her daughter; Patty Konecny of Cedar Rapids; She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her brother Louis (Irma) Binko; sisters Emily (Mervin) Lucas and Elma (John) Hartl.
