Bessie M. Jandl, 95, of Cedar Rapids , died Tuesday night, July 19, 2005 at Manor Care Health services.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, July 22, 2005 at St. Ludmila Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids with Father Tom McDermott, presiding. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery , Cedar Rapids . Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday at Brosh Chapel, Cedar Rapids with a vigil service at 5:30 pm and a rosary at 7:00 pm. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to services Friday at the church.

Bessie was born on May 11, 1910 in Cedar Rapids , the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Trachta) Jandl. She worked as an assistant traffic supervisor for Northwestern Bell for over 49 years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of St. Ludmila Catholic Church and Telephone Pioneers.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Barbara Jandl of Cedar Rapids ; nephews, Michael Pratt of Quincy , Illinois , and James Jandl Sr. of Cedar Rapids ; and a niece, Teresa Moenck of Cedar Rapids .

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Julia Jandl and Stella Pratt, brother Edward Jandl, brother-in-law Harry Pratt, and a nephew, Thomas Pratt.
