Barbara was born January 10, 1945 in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Cornelius and Emma (Pospisil) Melley.  She graduated from Cedar Rapids Prairie High School and from Mt. Mercy College with a degree in nursing.    Barbara was united in marriage to Richard Lacy on April 22, 1966 in Cedar Rapids.  To this union three daughters were raised, Candy, Lisa and Sara.

Barbara is survived by her daughters Candy Lacy Ankney, Lisa Lacy Palmer, and Sara Lacy all of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren Mathew Milner, Nicholas Stark, Logan and Keegan Palmer, Kailey Lacy and Ethan Lacy; three great-grandchildren Emily, Alec and Penelope; her brother Ronald Melley of Cedar Rapids, as well as many close friends, including Gloria Clinton and Jill Barrett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother and her granddaughter Amanda Nicole Lacy.
