Arlene Doris Netolicky, 79, formerly of rural Amana, died Thursday, July 16, 2009 at the Keystone Place in Cedar Rapids. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2009 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, temporarily located at 3100 F Avenue NW, with Rev. Tom Carver presiding. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.
Arlene was born August 27, 1929 near Ely, the daughter of Charles and Lillian Reif Chaloupka. She married Clarence J. Netolicky on August 14, 1947 in Cedar Rapids. Arlene was a member of the Sewing Guild, the Johnson County Farm Bureau Women's Club, WFLA, and the CSA. She enjoyed going to the Johnson County Fair and spent many years as a 4-H leader of the Monroe Bright Eyes. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, baking, playing cards with her friends, and going to the casino. Arlene loved her Czech heritage, her trips to Czechoslovakia, and spending time outdoors on the farm. She always made time for her family.
Arlene is survived by her children, Larry (Patty) Netolicky of Fairfax and their children, Michelle (Dan) Steines and Mike (Suzie) Netolicky; Lisa Smith (Dan Barnett) of Cedar Rapids and her children, Jeremy Smith and Molly Smith; other grandchildren include, Jenni (Joe) Keitges, Chris (Carrie) Adams, Matt (Kim) Adams, Jeff Englert, Renae (Jon) Myers; 10 greatgrandchildren; and her sister, Gladys (Don) Hruby.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her daughters, Joyce Adams and Ruth Englert.
