Anne Sexton Dalecky, 93 of Cedar Rapids died Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Mercy Hallmar after a lengthy illness. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 14 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, with Sr. Mary Lou Podzimek presiding. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.
Anne was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 25, 1914 the daughter of Edward and Agnes Helebrant Sexton. Orphaned at the age of eight, she came to Cedar Rapids to make her home with her maternal aunt, Barbara Panek. Anne graduated from the old Washington High School in 1933, worked at Wilsons Packing Co., Kresge, and Collins Radio. Anne married Stanley Dalecky on August 14, 1937 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Church. Anne enjoyed crafts, art and crocheting. She did volunteer work for over twenty years at the Witwer Senior Center. Anne cherished her friends and hoped they would remember her.
Anne is survived by her four children Barbara (Don) Pulkrab of Fairfax, Darlene Johnson of Cedar Rapids, David (Claire) Dalecky of California, and Richard (Joyce) Dalecky of Cedar Rapids; sixteen grandchildren; twenty nine great grandchildren; one greatgreat grandchild; two step greatgrandchildren; and a nephew Ed (Jackie) Spacek of Nevada
Anne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Stanley on April 19, 1969; two sisters Estella Sexton and Agnes and brother in law Ed Spacek; and a brother Edward and a sister-in-law Marie Sexton.
