Anna Marie Russell Prohaska, 88 of Solon, died Wednesday, December 29 at Solon Nursing Care Center in Solon. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon with Fr. James Vrba presiding. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Brosh Chapel in Solon. A private family inurnment will be at Fairfax Cemetery in Fairfax.

Anna was born April 6, 1922 in Fairfax, the daughter of John and Emily Zabokrtsky Russell. She married Dick Prohaska on November 6, 1940 in Cedar Rapids. Richard died July 29, 2005.

Anna worked at the Ranch Supper Club as a server from 1967-1987. She loved dancing, sewing, fishing and being outdoors. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon.

Anna is survived by her children; Donna (Jim) Krob of Solon, Dick (Dianne) Prohaska of Cedar Rapids and David (Cheryl) Prohaska of Durant, two siblings; Marvel Donohoe of Cedar Rapids and Bill Russell of Traer and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dick and siblings; Vera Sanders, Marion Olson, Dale, Jack, Don and Earl Russell.
