Alyssa Ellen Peshek, 37, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, November 23, 2017.  Celebration of life services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church, located at 2808 Schaeffer Dr. SW.  There will be visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2017 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.

Alyssa was born April 4, 1980 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Clarence and Wendy (Benesh) Walton.  After high school, Alyssa attended Kirkwood Community College and the former Hamilton College.  Throughout her all too short life, Alyssa endured numerous health and mental issues to which she succumbed.  Her joyous laugh, million dollar smile and independent, sassy attitude will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

Alyssa is survived by her three children Allison, Lizzy, and Gavin; her parents; sister Heather (Robert) Lee; brother James (Katie) Walton; best friend Damon Derrick; nieces Aubrey and Olivia Williamson; nephews Carter and Bradley Walton; aunts and uncles Judy McLaskey, Randy and Kris Benesh, and Robert and Vada Elliott; ex-husband Joel Peshek; as well as several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Mary Ellen Walton, Louis and Marjorie Benesh and an uncle Francis "Mac" McLaskey.
