Allen Joseph LeGrand, 61 of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center. Celebration of Life gathering will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013, at The Avacentre at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. A private family burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery. Allen was born March 27, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Albert and Rita (Lange) LeGrand. He worked for many years as a local union iron worker. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, socializing with family and friends. Allen is survived by his sons Christopher LeGrand and Paul LeGrand; and a daughter Rita; a brother Jerry (Rose) LeGrand of Cedar Rapids; sister Jean Fagen of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law Bev LeGrand of Cedar Rapids; his loving companion of over 18 years Stephanie Mohr and their family Sarah (Dan) Kline and children Sam, Josie and Evie. He was preceded in death by three brothers Donald, James and Charles LeGrand, and his parents. Memorials may be directed to the family.
