Aldene Taylor, 97 of Solon, died Wednesday, March 28, 2007 in her home of natural causes.  A funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon, with visitation an hour prior to services at the Church.  A luncheon will be served after the service with burial following in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Aldene was born on November 10, 1909 in Lexington, Illinois the daughter of James and Teresa Kinsella.  She was raised in Ames, Iowa and married Everett (Lee) Taylor on August 12, 1933.  She lived and worked as a bookkeeper in Ames.  After the war, she and her husband moved to Waterloo.  She was a bookkeeper for many years.  Her husband passed away in 1975.  She moved to Marshalltown, Iowa in 1990 after she retired.  She moved to Solon in 2001, where she lived in her own apartment at the Solon Retirement Village. Aldene loved playing bridge, sewing, organ and spending time with her family.

Aldene is survived by her sister Margaret Kilpatrick of Harlan, Iowa; several nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews and great-grand nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister and a brother.
