Albert "Frank" Pledge, 80, of Cedar Rapids, died on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center.  Homegoing services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Gospel Tabernacle Church.  Burial will be in Czech National Cemetery.  Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.

Albert was born March 2, 1943, in Grand Junction, Tennessee, the son of Alex and Nannie Sue (Pirtle) Pledge. He was united in marriage to Earline Hayes on April 20, 1974, in Redemption Missionary Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids.   Frank was an Elder at New Life Church of God in Christ.  He enjoyed singing, watching baseball and wrestling, preaching, and most of all spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren.

Albert is survived by his wife Earline; his children Ann Hayes, Frank Pledge Jr., Donnie Pledge, Abraham Pledge, Stacey Pledge and Barb (Torrie) Pledge-Robinson; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings Frances White, Lena Frazier, Maurice Williams, Joe A. Pledge, and Brenda Pledge; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings John Henry Pledge, Nannie Sue Browning, Isaac Pledge, Rosie B. Pledge, Allen Pledge, Alex Pledge Jr., and Mildred Aschen, his brothers-in-law Jimmie White, Bill Frazier, Floyd Williams.
