Adelaide Pauline Machek. 97 of Cedar Rapids died Sunday, July 22, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center after a brief illness. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 26 at St Ludmilas Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 25 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids where there will be a 5 p.m. rosary.
Adelaide was born July 15, 1910 in Yankton, South Dakota, the daughter of Albert and Pauline Nesetril Jindrich. She married Milo Machek in October 5, 1939 in Cedar Rapids. Adelaide was a member of St. Ludmilas Catholic Church for over 50 years and active in many church activities.
Adelaide is survived by her daughter Marriann Nelsen of Mohave Valley, AZ; granddaughter Lori Sylvester; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Milo on March 21, 1971; her four sister and two brothers.
